Local Care Direct has a workforce of over 700, which includes both employed and unemployed colleagues. Much of the service provision is outside of standard working hours and therefore particularly susceptible to the current workforce challenges, particularly with respect to clinicians.
As a result Local Care Direct has developed its own Educational Faculty, where we both train and develop existing staff to improve their skillsets and recruit to externally supported qualifications, some examples are:
- Fully supported ACP training with University of Huddersfield
- Fully supported ENP training schemes
- System development and rotation of UCP workforce
- Clinical Support Worker training and development programme
- Apprenticeships in Management and Leadership Skills
- Development of GP appraisal and assessment services
