As a clinician the work at LCD is varied and interesting. It is possible to interact with patients via telephone consultations, and also face to face in either a surgery setting or on home visits.
LCD provides regular clinical updates for clinicians, and has a strong approach to significant event reporting and learning from those incidents.
Training and quality improvement sessions are provided in areas such as safeguarding, Prevent, sepsis recognition, telephone consultation and basic life support.
As a company their ethos is always to put the patient first. In the face of increasing workload and demands on the NHS, LCD has done its utmost to cope with and adapt to those pressures.
However, at the heart of the organisation are the staff who, in my experience, are extremely friendly and helpful to the clinicians who work here, whilst at the same time they ensure that patients are kept safe and treated respectfully and efficiently.
